The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards

So, as many of you know CBS was taken over for 3 hours by the Emmy Awards last night. Now usually I am waaay to busy to be able to watch but, due to the circumstances this year I actually could watch.

Neil Patrick Harris was the host for the evening. He began the show with some of the past hosts and it was great. The first speech of the night was possibly the best of the evening by being less then 30 seconds long. Merritt Weaver FTW with "Thank you so much, umm I gotta go bye". I laughed so hard.

The night was filled with lots of remembrance speeches and made my heart sad that so many great actors have died this year. With speakers like Micheal J. Fox, Robin Williams and Jane Lynch you know we paid attention.

Then came the Number in the Middle of the Show. Yes, that was the name of it. With Cameos from Nathan Fillion and Sarah Silverman. Best Line goes to "You can't spell Cameo without ME". It was a great pick me up from the tedium.

This year marks the first time that Choreography was given an award on air. They did this awesome number that was in one word "FANTASTIC"! I loved it and I believe it should become a tradition.

The night was filled with a bunch of the norm for award shows. Speeches that went way to long and awards that probably didn't go to the best choice but, alas that is the way with these things. Some decent performances by both Elton John and Carrie Underwood. I was actually fairly unimpressed with the rest of it. I think I shall just watch the highlights next year.

My Family Book Club.

So, in my family we read. Not read as in we pick up a book when we have some free time. No, by read I mean that if we have a few minutes where we could possibly fit in reading then we do. I have read while doing laundry, watching a TV, cooking dinner, in a movie theater before the movie.

Now you would think that for a family that reads like this that the natural inclination would be to have an inter-family book club. Yeah, in theory it was great. We all got to suggest a book and then we would read and discuss it. However, what happened was that everyone of us read at different levels. Making it difficult for all of us to be on the same page. Also some of us didn't like all of the books that were chosen for the book club and refused to read them. Again making it difficult for all of us to talk about it.

However, I would like to continue on with the Book Club and as such am going to revamp it as a Book Review Club. Everyone is given the option of reading the book and the person who choose the book will be given the task of reviewing the book. I am also going to ask that my older sister(Book Club Creator) and I also review the book. Giving at least 3 different view points of the book for others to see.

In accordance with this blog I will be posting all of my reviews for the books here as well. I think that it will help me get into the habit of both writing and posting for the blog.

Job Hunting in 2013

I am 24 years old and I am unemployed. I have been trying to get a job since I was 19 years old. That means for 5 years I have been unemployable. Now I am honest in the fact that I did not look hard all of that time. I filled it will volunteering, helping out my friends and housework. Now that all has to change.

A few weeks ago my SO(Significant Other) was injured and unable to work to his fullest. So with this light duty came light hours. Well, now we are feeling the pain of not having that income. Because though he is still earning money we seem to have collected more bills then we can now easily pay. My SO has asked that I knuckle down on the job search and really try to find something.

Now, I have been applying to at least 3 jobs a day for the last two weeks and this picture just about sums up my feelings

I have sent in about 30+ resumes/applications and this is the common issue. I will however push through this and hopefully I will get one of the many jobs that I am trying for. But, until then I am stuck with the above picture as my only solace. There are others out there and they make funny pictures about it.

My Adventure in Blogging.

There is one key thing that you need to know about me. I love to learn new things. With the internet, magazines, books and even just skilled people there is an infinite amount of things to learn in this world.  With learning comes (at least hopefully) knowledge.

But, what do you do with that knowledge. I am not going to go out and start up a new business every time I read an article about how easy it is. That would be silly. However, what people can do is share that knowledge and what they took from it.

So, that is what I plan to do. I will share my thoughts, opinions and ideas that I have formed from various things in the world. I will try to do a good job of it. Here is to trying new things.
